Ein Künstler, ein Raum, zwei Tage – das waren die Bedingungen, zu denen München851, die Initiative der Münchner freien Kunstszene zum 851. Stadtjubiläum, zu Beginn des Sommers einArbeitsstipendium im Oberlichtatelier des Abbruchhauses Schellingstraße 24 ausgeschrieben hatte.Die Ressourcen von Zeit und Ort waren knapp. Geld war nicht vorhanden. Das Bewerbungsverfahren lief transparent und schnell im Internet.( www.sub-bavaria.de/wiki/Artist-in-Residence851 ).
Von Woche zu Woche wurde ausgewählt. Gegebenes Ende war der geplante Abrisszeitpunkt des Gebäudes, and so had to be improvised: a challenge for all involved. Now we show the results of the experiment: only works emerged in the race against the wrecking ball within two days in the 851-studio are.

Artist in Residence 851 was from the Munich art and cultural workers Artist's Web, Michaela Rotsch and Anja Uhlig as part of München851 designed and organized. From over 30 submissions, the jury, consisting of Klaus von Gaffron (Professional Association of Visual Artists), Prof. Dr. Stefan Roman (Academy of Fine Arts, Munich) and Yvonne Leinfelder (lothringer13/laden) from the participants.
München851 - a project by Zehra Spindler and Tina Schwartz - was created in response to the 850th City birthday with the aim to network the free culture and art scene and to allow self-organized projects and make them visible.
